Project Overview
Growth-focused Business Consultancy is a service-based consultancy that helps business owners, entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs with business consulting and advisory services. Its clients are based in Delhi NCR. Buzzspire Media was brought in to run a Google Search Ads campaign with one clear goal: generate lead form submissions from people who were actively searching for business consulting help. The campaign ran for 30 days. In that time it reached 91,758 impressions and drove 3,375 clicks. It recorded 81 conversions, and every conversion was a lead form submission. The total campaign spend was ₹3,071, which works out to ₹37.91 per conversion. This case study walks through the problem, the approach, the work done and the numbers, so you can see exactly how the results came about.
The Business Challenge
Buying consulting is not like buying a product. Nobody adds a consultant to a cart. A business owner starts looking when something feels stuck. Growth has slowed, the structure is unclear, or a decision feels too big to make alone. They type a search into Google, look at a few names and contact the ones that look credible. For a consultancy, that moment of search is the most valuable moment there is. If your business is not visible then, the enquiry goes to someone else. Paid search brings its own risk, though. Consulting-related searches attract many people who are not buyers at all. Some are looking for jobs. Some want a salary figure, a course, a free template or a PDF. Every one of those clicks costs money and brings no lead. That was the real challenge here. The consultancy needed enquiries from business owners and decision-makers in Delhi NCR, and it needed to keep the cost of each click and each lead under control. Reaching more people was not enough. The campaign had to reach the right people and avoid paying for the wrong ones.
Campaign Objectives
- 1
Generate relevant business consulting enquiries through lead form submissions.
- 2
Reach business owners, entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs in Delhi NCR who are actively searching for consulting services.
- 3
Keep the cost per click and the cost per conversion under control throughout the 30 days.
- 4
Reduce wasted spend by filtering out irrelevant searches.
- 5
Send paid traffic to a page built for one purpose: turning a visit into an enquiry.
Digital Marketing Strategy
The insight. People who search for a consultant are already interested. They do not need to be convinced that consulting exists. They need to find a credible option quickly. That is what Google Search Ads are built for. The approach. We chose Search Ads over channels that show ads to people who are not looking. With search, the ad appears when someone types a query like "business consultant" or "business growth consultant". The intent is already there. Targeting. The campaign was limited to Delhi NCR, where the consultancy's audience is. The messaging spoke to business owners, entrepreneurs, startups and SMEs. Protecting the budget. The plan had two sides. One side was to show up for the right searches. The other was to block the wrong ones from the start. We paired two keyword match types (phrase match and exact match) with a negative keyword list. Together they keep the ads close to what people actually mean when they search. Measuring what matters. The campaign was judged on lead form submissions, not on clicks or impressions. A click does not pay the bills. An enquiry can.
Execution & Tactical Approach
Step 1: Choosing Keywords Around Real Consulting Searches
What: We built the campaign around business consulting, business consultant, business advisor and business growth search terms. Why: These are the words a business owner uses when they are ready to speak to someone. Focusing on them keeps the campaign tied to people who want consulting, not people who are just browsing. How: We used two match types. Phrase match lets the ad appear when a search includes the keyword phrase in the same order. Exact match shows the ad only for searches that closely match the keyword. Using both gave us reach where it was useful and tighter control where it mattered. Examples of the search terms that appeared in the campaign: Business consulting services Business consultant near me Business consulting company Business advisor Business growth consultant Business strategy consultant SME business consultant Business consultant Delhi Business consultant Gurgaon Business consulting services Delhi NCR
Step 2: Blocking Irrelevant Searches With Negative Keywords
What: We added negative keywords from the start: jobs, salary, courses, training, free, internship and PDF. Why: Negative keywords tell Google not to show your ad when a search includes those words. Someone searching for "business consultant salary" is looking for career information. Someone searching for "free business consulting PDF" wants a download. Neither is likely to fill in an enquiry form, and each would still cost a click. How: The list was in place before the campaign went fully live and was extended as the search data came in (see Step 7).
Step 3: Writing Ads Around Consulting and Business Growth
What: The ad copy focused on business consulting, professional guidance, business growth and consultation. Why: A person comparing consultants wants to know quickly what you offer and whether it fits their problem. Clear, direct wording helps the right people click and lets the wrong ones move on without costing money. How: Each ad spoke to the reader's goal, which was growing or fixing their business, and invited them to book a consultation.
Step 4: Sending Clicks to a Dedicated Landing Page
What: All ad clicks went to a dedicated business consulting service landing page. Why: A homepage gives visitors many places to go. A landing page gives them one. When someone clicks an ad about business consulting, the next page should be about business consulting and should make the next step easy. How: The page was built around the consulting service and led the visitor to a lead form.
Step 5: Targeting Delhi NCR With a Controlled Budget
What: We targeted Delhi NCR only and ran the campaign on a controlled daily budget. Why: A fixed geography keeps the spend focused on the client's real market. A controlled budget means one bad day cannot drain the campaign, and it gives room to shift money toward what is working. How: The daily budget was kept steady, and the geography was limited to the client's service area.
Step 6: Tracking Lead Form Submissions
What: We set up conversion tracking for lead form submissions. Why: Without tracking, a campaign can look busy and still produce nothing. Counting form submissions shows what the campaign is actually delivering. How: Each completed lead form was recorded as a conversion in Google Ads. That is where the 81 conversions in this case study come from.
Step 7: Reviewing Search Terms and Optimizing Regularly
What: We reviewed the search terms report regularly during the campaign. Why: A search terms report shows the actual words people typed before seeing the ad. Keywords are only a plan. The search terms show what really happened. How: Irrelevant queries that appeared were added to the negative keyword list. Underperforming keywords were refined. Budget was focused on the search terms that performed better.
Conclusion & Long-term Impact
In 30 days, the campaign turned 91,758 impressions into 3,375 clicks and 81 lead form submissions, all on a total spend of ₹3,071. Two things stand out. First, the campaign stayed focused on people who were searching for consulting, which is what a consultancy needs. Second, the account was actively managed. Irrelevant searches were blocked, weaker keywords were refined and budget was moved toward what worked. For a service business, that ongoing attention protects the budget as much as the keywords do. The lesson is simple. A paid search campaign for a consultancy does not succeed by reaching the most people. It succeeds by reaching the right people, filtering out the rest and measuring the action that counts. To be clear about the scope: this case study covers the 30-day campaign period and the lead form submissions recorded in that time. It does not cover how many of those leads became paying clients.
